Shakira Explains How She 'Stood Up To [A] Wild Boar' In Bizarre Barcelona Park Attack

Shakira, 44, said she and her eight-year-old son were attacked by wild boars while vacationing in Barcelona, Spain.
The singer explained all in a recent Instagram Story and showed the damage.
It turns out wild boar attacks are on the rise in Spain and other European cities, as the fearless pigs hunt for food scraps in metropolitan areas.
Don't mess with Shakira. The singer, 44, said in a brand new Instagram Story that she and her eight-year-old son, Milan, were attacked by wild boars while on vacation in Barcelona, Spain. The Grammy award-winner explained that she and her son were walking in a park when the pigs attacked out of nowhere.
They grabbed her purse, with her cell phone inside, and ran into the woods. Shakira was able to get the bag back, she revealed, before it disappeared with the animals.
"Look at how two wild boar which attacked me in the park have left my bag," she said, in Spanish. She also shared pictures of the damaged bag, according to BuzzFeed and the New York Post.
The purse was covered in dirt and had multiple visible tears. "They were taking my bag to the woods with my mobile phone in it," Shakira said. "They've destroyed everything."
Then, the singer turned to her son, Milan. "Milan, tell the truth," she told him. "Say how your mummy stood up to the wild boar."
Shakira hasn't been the only target of pushy pigs, BBC News reported. Wild boar attacks have been on the rise across Europe for years, with the Spanish police receiving 1,187 calls related to wild boar disturbances in 2016 alone. It seems the pigs are drawn to big cities like Barcelona, where they are attracted to food scraps in the trash that residents throw away. They're not afraid of interacting with people, either. (At least until they crossed paths with Shakira.)
