Her hips don’t lie, and they were saying that Shakira was in a dancing mood on Sunday while a hairstylist took a curling iron to her enviable mane. The performer was captured in a video posted to the Instagram of Johnny Wujek, a wardrobe stylist to the stars.
In it, the blond Colombian beauty is rocking a pair of denim cutoffs, a belly shirt, and a bondage-inspired ensemble while moving to “Sex and Candy,” originally a 1997 pop hit by the band Marcy Playground that’s since been covered by Maroon 5. Wujek captioned the photo “Singing w/ my girls while @Shakira gets those curls.”
Among numerous hashtags the stylist included was #Barcelona, the city where the 39-year-old resides with her husband, Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué, and the couple’s two kids — and is apparently performing. Shakira herself posted the same video to her Instagram account with the caption, “No wonder I get burned with curling irons all the time.”
Fans got a kick out of the lighthearted moment, with one joking, “I see this hairdresser think all the time ‘Shakira! Being a rock star doesn’t give you ability to dance while I’m making your hair!'” Another wrote, “I love the rock side of Shakira!”.
The singer is currently promoting her new album, Chantaje, featuring recording artist Maluma, “is the fastest ever Spanish-language video to reach 100[million] views and become Vevo Certified,” according to a previous post by Shakira. Videos on the music website Vevo, which provides content from Universal Music Group , Sony Music Entertainment, and EMI, become “certified” when they reach 100 million views.
