‘Shahs of Sunset’ Star Nema Vand Says Meghan Markle Once Came ‘Nose-to-Nose’ with Him at a High School Party

We know it’s hard to believe, but before Prince Harry, Meghan Markle had some other leading men in her life. No, we’re not talking about her ex-husband. We’re actually referring to her high school days.

Sure, she may have attended the all-girls Catholic school Immaculate Heart in Los Angeles, but the establishment actually had a brother school, one which reality TV star, Nema Vand, attended. On a recent episode of the Reality Life with Kate Casey podcast, Vand (who stars on the Bravo series Shahs of Sunset) opened up about his friendship with the Duchess of Sussex before she was, well, the duchess.

“I grew up with her. We were friends for a long time. She was a year older than me. Meghan was amazing, a woman among girls,” he said, according to Page Six. “She was sweet and very kind.”

And it seems like the duo were almost more than just friends. The branding executive revealed that the 38-year-old even went so far as to learn Farsi (the Persian language) to impress him.

“She knew what she was doing. She toyed with our hearts masterfully,” he continued. “We were at a party one time and she sat on my lap. She got nose-to-nose with me. For a 16-year-old guy, that is an emotional moment. She said to me in Farsi, ‘You are so beautiful.’ I asked her, ‘How do you know Farsi?’ She said, 'I learned it for you.' Then she walked away.”

We’re totally not surprised everyone loved Markle in high school (she even won homecoming queen). Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to attend her 20th high school reunion, because she was due to give birth to baby Archie the next day.

We love a good high school Meghan story.
