We're gonna see a lot more of The Sex Lives of College Girls.

Mindy Kaling's new HBO Max comedy, following a quartet of women trying to fit in and follow their dreams at a New England liberal arts college, was renewed for a second season days before last Thursday's season 1 finale. The hilarious, heartfelt comedy has made a big impact, with the Nov. 18 premiere marking the biggest launch by an original comedy on the streamer this year.

"Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble have created and written a show that is full of heart, female friendships, and awkward naked parties. We are delighted that this comic, honest portrayal of the college condition has resonated for everyone, whether they had sex in college or not. We can’t wait to see where these uniquely complex yet relatable characters will go next," Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max, said in a statement.

Now that season one is done, here's everything we know about season 2.

Season 2 premieres on November 17, 2022.

Fans are set to return to Essex College this winter, as Sex Lives of College Girls will return this November. HBO Max has confirmed that the show will start with a two-episode premiere and drop two more episodes weekly on Wednesdays, ending with the December 15 finale. Co-creator Justin Noble previously told Entertainment Weekly that the season will pick up right where season 1 left off, as Leighton, Bela, Whitney, and Kimberly return to school following the Thanksgiving Break of their freshman year.

The season's trailer shows the girls reuniting and immediately starting a new season of wild parties, including an underwear snow run and a campus strip show (which Bela and Leighton are co-organizing!). We also get a hint of each of the girls' storylines, as well as an introduction to the new hottie in the residence hall (played by Mitchell Slaggert).

The streamer has also released photos from the new season, showing that the girls will be adding a Northeast winter to their day-to-day concerns. As Noble said, expect "a lot of coats, a lot of snow."

The main cast will return.

SLOCG is led by hilarious performances from its four lead actresses: Pauline Chalamet, who plays bookworm Kimberly; Amrit Kaur as comedian Bela; Alyah Chanelle Scott as soccer player Whitney; and Reneé Rapp as preppy legacy Leighton. The quartet are all very likely to return for season 2, though the characters themselves may have a tough time staying at Essex.

One cast member who won't be returning is Gavin Leatherwood, who previously confirmed to Us Weekly that he won't reprise the role of campus heartthrob Nico.

"It was such an incredible experience. I think Mindy is brilliant and the cast, everyone’s lovely," Leatherwood told the outlet. "But with so many amazing opportunities out there, we want to keep spreading our wings and leading ourselves to other projects so that’s the move."

The quartet will deal with new relationships, coming out, and student loans.

A quick rundown of where each woman is at the end of the season 1: Leighton is reeling from her breakup with Alicia (Midori Francis), and has come out to Kimberly. Bela left the exclusive comedy club The Catullan, and may start her own women-led club with other former members. Whitney, who's now dating Canaan (Chris Meyer) has come clean to her senator mom about her former relationship with Coach Dalton (James Morosini). As for Kimberly, her place at Essex is up in the air, after getting her scholarship taken away when she was caught cheating.

Noble shared some details about each of the main foursome's new storylines in his interview with EW. The co-creator said the show will continue along the paths set in the finale, including Leighton's journey in coming out and Bela's self-reflection on whether she's ready to be in a relationship. In addition to her new relationship with Canaan, Whitney will have to figure out what she'll do with her free time after the soccer season ends.

He also told the outlet that Kimberly's romantic storyline will take a back seat as she tries to find the money to stay at Essex. "That is quite a lot of money that a student has to find to be able to stay at a school that was her dream," Noble said. "So that is going to be taking up a whole lot of her mental capacity."

The cast is excited to develop the quartet's friendship.

In a December interview with EW, Scott opened up about her hopes for her character in season 2, including more self-discovery and smooth sailing in her relationship with Canaan. She said she wants the central friendships to keep moving forward.

"Mostly, honestly, to see that friendship with the four of them really solidify. You see it by the end of the season, but I want to see them really settle in and it get really familiar and maybe even a little messy," she said.

Mitchell Slaggert has joined the show as a new transfer student.

Per Deadline, Slaggert will play Jackson, a transfer student and former Division I athlete who arrives at Essex College after two years at a big party school. He also has "a natural confidence and a depth that begins to show over time." The actor has appeared in the films Spare Room and Wish Upon, and he had a role on the Gossip Girl reboot as Luna's hot Hudson boy Rob.
