Just one month after the second season of the steamy Netflix show dropped on the streaming platform, Sex/Life has been cancelled.

The drama series, which focused on the love triangle between Billie (played by Sarah Shahi), her husband Cooper (Mike Vogel) and her ex-lover Brad (Adam Demos), had some unforgettable moments – I mean who remembers that shower scene?! – and a whole lot of drama.

Because of this, it was one of the most talked about shows in recent years. But as a spokesperson for Netflix told Deadline, the latest set of episodes brought the show to a natural close.

They also suggested that the storylines for the key characters had been wrapped up and come to a happy conclusion.

And we have to agree, it did give us a happy ending, even if we would have been happy to see more from Billie and Brad.

News of the show’s cancellation also comes after Sarah expressed her frustration and disappointment about the lack of support that she received during the filming of the second season.

Speaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, she said, “I’m not going to put [the show] down, but I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season from the people involved in the show.”

According to Sarah, the show had also become “gimmicky”, with her adding, “it became a much different thing for me, and I'm not afraid to say that. I struggled with the material. I mean, I'm never going to work for Netflix again now after saying all this, I just can't lie!"

And it looks like she was right!

It has since been revealed that Sarah has joined the cast of a new legal drama called Judgement – which is set to air on ABC in the US – that would have clashed with any prospective filming for Sex/Life. So, it looks like a third season was never on the cards.

Anyway, we're excited there's still gonna be more Sarah on our screens!

If you haven't yet caught up with the latest season, or feel like binge watching it from the beginning again, both seasons of Sex/Life are available on Netflix now.
