Texas, Vanderbilt, others honoring military for Veterans Day (Video)

In honor of Veterans Day, several college football programs will be honoring military with special uniforms this weekend.

Perhaps the most special arrangement of the weekend comes from Vanderbilt, where the Commodores will wear uniforms featuring names of fallen soldiers on the name plate and that soldier’s branch of military on a patch on the front.

How cool is that? You can see the full list of soldiers being honored on Vanderbilt’s website.

In the SEC, Mississippi State hosts Alabama for its annual military appreciation game. The Bulldogs will wear these jerseys with a reflective stars and stripes pattern.

Elsewhere, UMass, for its game at Fenway Park against Maine, will also be wearing uniforms featuring stars and stripes on the shoulder pads.

For its home game against Kansas, Texas will add decals of each military brand and names of former Texas students who served to their helmets.
