Every year at Seventeen, we honor the teens and young adults who are working today to save tomorrow with Voices of the Year. Those who, despite their ages or challenges that come their way, continue to use their voices to speak out against injustices, to speak up for those without a voice, and to make change where it is needed.

From lobbying lawmakers to prevent harmful policies against trans youth, to fighting to keep anti-racist resources and curriculum in schools, to speaking out against hate in all forms and showing what it truly means to be a role model, our 2021 honorees are committed to the work that comes with creating a brighter future.

As Indigenous Youth Leader Tokata Iron Eyes says, “Activism should be an inherent part of what it means to be alive right now, or you’re on the wrong side of history.
