The era of cloth face masks is here to stay, at least for a while. Maybe you're hand-sewing your own, or you've resorted to that bandana and hair tie trick going around. But the rest of us? We'll be investing in comfortable, washable face masks to wear on those few-and-far-between times we leave the house. (The CDC advises that we leave surgical masks and N95s for healthcare workers; reusable, washable cloth face masks, with or without filters, are just fine for most of us.)
Below are a variety of cloth face masks: some are tie-on, some have elastic bands, some are for adults and others are for children. Many of the retailers selling these masks are matching each sale with a donation of a mask to a healthcare worker or food industry worker. Others are donating the profits from the sale of masks to COVID-19 relief funds or hospitals battling the outbreak.
While hopefully you're able to mostly stay home, a fabric face mask should be right there next to your keys the next time you need to leave the house for a grocery run, a walk outside, or work.
