Seth Rogen Is The Lion King ’s Underdog Style Star

This month, the cast of the new Lion King reboot has been making their global press rounds. Much of the spotlight on the red carpet thus far has been on Beyoncé, who is the voice of Nala in the animated flick: she has ruled the carpet with a gold pleated gown by Cong Tri this week, and a dazzling tuxedo dress by Alexander McQueen last week. Squint past Bey’s dazzling looks and you’ll find that her cast mate, Seth Rogen, has stepped up his fashion sense for the promo tour, too. Call him the film’s underdog style star.

Rogen, who voices Pumbaa, has undergone a fashion transformation for this big Blockbuster launch. Gone are the casual suits he’s favored for premieres in the past; in there place, fashun outfits that are modern and cool. It all began at the Los Angeles premiere last week, when Rogen hit the step and repeat in a silk mohair suit by Prada, styled with a ’70s-style printed camp collared shirt underneath. He kept that sleazy-chic aesthetic going today in London, where he sported another black suit with a Hawaiian-style button-up underneath.

The star’s spiffy new look is partly thanks to the work of his new stylists, the duo Wendi & Nicole, who also work with stars such as Nicholas Hoult and Miles Teller. Even Rogen’s more casual outfits—for daytime panels, or en route to talk shows—have proven to be a step up from his jeans and T-shirts combos: he’s tried on silk button-ups and a graphic, striped sweater instead. He’s proven he cleans up nice for evening, too. Take the classic tux he wore to the Lion King’s London premiere this weekend, complete with a white shirt, bow-tie, and oxfords. The takeaway? It looks like Rogen’s got a new style stride. And men should take notes.
