Set Your DVR! A New Game Show Stars 'Jeopardy!''s Greatest Players of All Time

Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time graced TV screens across the country in early 2020 and brought ABC skyrocketing numbers. So the network is bringing GOAT contestants James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings, and Brad Rutter back for a fun new quiz show. The three will star in ABC's U.S. adaptation of British game show, The Chase, Variety reported. In the show, three regular contestants will face off against one TV trivia champion, a.k.a. the Chaser, to try to win cash prizes. The premiere date of the nine-episode show has yet to be announced.

The Chase will be an hour-long quiz show hosted by Sara Haines from The View, and Holzhauer, Jennings, and Rutter will each take turns as the show's "Chaser." According to Variety, the Chaser is considered "a ruthless quiz genius determined to stop contestants from winning cash prizes. Each week, new contestants face-off against the Chasers in a battle of brain power, challenged to think faster than they ever thought possible." In each episode, the contestants will have to answer up to 166 questions across all topics in order to win the cash prize in the final chase.

But this isn't the first time the British show has been adapted. Deadline reported that the original one aired in 2009 and was one of ITV's most popular shows in the UK until it wrapped this year. The first American adaptation aired on the Game Show Network in 2013 where Mark Labbett, one of the British contestants, served as the Chaser. Brooke Burns hosted at the time, and the four-season series was nominated for outstanding game show at the Daytime Emmys, Variety reported. Episodes from the 2013 adaptation can be found on Netflix.

Holzhauer, Jennings, and Rutter became household names when Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time hit TV screens everywhere in January. The three men competed in a first-to-three-wins series that had a top prize of $1 million, which Jennings took home. At that time, ABC's head of alternative Robert Mills told Deadline that he wanted to continue working with the GOATs and find "something that taps into what these guys are." "Whether it's something with Jeopardy! or not, certainly I would argue these three guys are the biggest stars in primetime right now," Mills said. "But you can't look at this and not acknowledge the impact that they have had over the [last] 20 years."

So, if you're eager to see some more of America's primetime TV stars, Holzhauer, Jennings, and Rutter, you're in luck! The men will be back together again soon enough.
