Just like the rest of us, Serena Williams really wanted to see “Black Panther,” so she did while surprising some fans in the process.

Williams, along with her husband Alexis Ohanian, treated a group from Black Girls Code to a private screening of the new Marvel movie at a theater in San Francisco. They were really excited to see her.

Black Girls Code is a nonprofit organization based out of San Francisco that empowers young women of color to “embrace the current tech marketplace as builders and creators.”

“Black Panther,” which premiered in theaters nationwide on Friday, has received widespread critical acclaim.

Williams, who has 23 singles Grand Slam titles on her resume, made her official return to the tennis court earlier this month by competing in a Fed Cup doubles match with her sister Venus. It was her first tour-level match (she lost an exhibition in December) since she won the Australian Open in January 2017.

Williams and Ohanian had their first child, Alexis, in September.
