The tennis champion embraced her inner runway model!

Serena Williams turned heads during New York Fashion Week on Monday evening!

The tennis player strutted down the Vogue WORLD runway on Sept. 12. To open the show, Williams wore a custom silver metallic Balenciaga dress, along with a cape that glided along the floor as she walked.

The Olympian rocked a sophisticated slicked-back ponytail to complete the look, along with gorgeous large diamond earrings that added some extra sparkle.

Four young girls donning white tennis garments and holding rackets accompanied Williams as she made her entrance. According to E! News, a video of Williams' 2000 interview with NBC played in the background of the fashion show.

"I want people to remember me as the girl who changed tennis, or just was able to bring something new to the game," a then-18-year-old Williams said.

The Vogue fashion show was a star-studded affair with Anna Wintour sitting in the front row alongside Jared Leto, Lil Nas X and Russell Westbrook.

Williams recently opened up in a Vogue cover story what her desire to build a family means for the future career as a tennis player.

"Maybe the best word to describe what I’m up to is evolution. I’m here to tell you that I’m evolving away from tennis, toward other things that are important to me," she said. "A few years ago I quietly started Serena Ventures, a venture capital firm. Soon after that, I started a family. I want to grow that family."

She continued, "These days, if I have to choose between building my tennis résumé and building my family, I choose the latter." She added, “I keep saying to myself, I wish it could be easy for me, but it’s not. I’m torn: I don’t want it to be over, but at the same time I’m ready for what’s next.”

However, Williams might not be saying goodbye to tennis forever. Last night, she sat down on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where she teased a possible return to the sport.

When he asked, "There's no chance of you pulling a Tom Brady and saying, 'Maybe I'm evolving to coming back?'" Williams subtly quipped, "You know what? Tom Brady started an amazing trend."

"That's what I want to say," she concluded with a laugh.
