While she's never been shy about talking about her relationship with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams opened up even more in a new Q&A with Bumble. As part of the app's Question Game, Williams said that her marriage is pretty blissful, but adds that she and Ohanian have to work for it to be that way. It's been a process, she noted, though she did say that it was a fun process to go through.

"Marriage is not bliss, but it can be if you work at it," she said. "I learned that love is an amazing feeling, and if you have an opportunity to feel it, then it's a special thing. That's been a lot of fun."

A major part of her marriage? She explained that loyalty is really important for her.

"A dealbreaker for me in a relationship is definitely loyalty," she said. "Well, not having it, that is."

People notes that she also opened up about heartbreak, which is something that people are definitely going through when they're looking to get to a happy place like Williams and Ohanian, who got married back in November 2017.

"Heartbreak is a part of life, whether it be a loved one, a boyfriend, or an animal," she added. "But time heals all wounds."

Ohanian has spoken about their marriage, too, telling Glamour that the most important thing, to him, is just to be present.

"I think if you were to ask my wife, or many other people in relationships, it's often the simpler things that are the most important. You have to show up," he said in 2019. "You have to be supportive. These are the things that matter."
