Serena Williams Sang "I Touch Myself" for Breast Cancer Awareness, and Her Voice Is AMAZING
Serena Williams has long been vocal when it comes to gender equality on the court and women's health issues, but in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month-it's October, hello and welcome-she used her voice in a brand new way: The tennis legend and new mother sang The Divinyls's "I Touch Myself" in a clip that's since gone viral on her Instagram page, acquiring 1.97 million views since it was posted a day ago.
Because Williams, who sings topless while clutching her breasts, has a voice that's unexpectedly angelic, it's totally worth a listen:

In her post, Williams explains that she recorded this song as part of the Australian bra brand Berlie's "I Touch Myself Project," which honors Divinyls member Chrissy Amphlett. The artist, who suffered from multiple sclerosis, lost her battle with breast cancer in 2013. The campaign is designed to remind women to self-check their breasts for irregularities.
"Yes, this put me out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to do it because it's an issue that affects all women of all colors, all around the world," Williams wrote of what inspired her to participate. "I just hope this helps to remind women of that."
Another reminder: It's smart to check your breasts and armpit area for lumps, thickening, or hardening knots every month a few days after your period ends, according to BreastCancer.org and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
