The tennis legend's professional career isn't ending just yet!

Serena Williams has proven, once again, that she is a dominant force to be reckoned with.

The powerhouse tennis player put on a show at the second round of 2022's US Open tournament, upsetting No. 2 seed Anett Kontaveit of Estonia on Wednesday night, 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 6-2—a major win for the soon-to-be retiree of the sport.

In front of another packed crowd inside New York's Arthur Ashe Stadium, Williams, 40, outlasted her younger opponent, Kontaveit, to secure her spot in round three of the tournament. Similarly to Monday's performance when she came out victorious in the first round against Danka Kovinic, the six-time US Open champion dug deep, mustering up the power and precision that has helped earn her titles in the game she loves for years.

"I'm a pretty good player," Williams said in her post-match, on-court interview. "This is what I do best. I love a challenge, and I love rising up to a challenge," she noted of the win.

"It's no rush here, I'm loving this crowd, and it's really fantastic," she commented, adding, "There's still a little left in me. We'll see."

All eyes have been on the 23-time victor as she competes in this particular US Open—which she confirmed will be the last of her professional career—since divulging her plans to "evolve" from the sport earlier this month.

The news of her upcoming retirement made waves, with fans, spectators, and fellow pros alike continuing to give the record-breaking athlete her (figurative) flowers before her exit.

Williams' husband and family have shown up front-and-center to support the champion in her final matches, with the tennis GOAT's daughter, Olympia, honoring her mom by sporting a matching sparkly Nike outfit and an iconic braided, beaded hairstyle identical to what her superstar mother became known for wearing early in her career.
