Warning, the following contains spoilers for the season finale of Game of Thrones, “The Dragon and The Wolf.” If you haven’t seen the episode yet, log on to your nearest HBO hub because so much happened and we need to talk about it.

If you were one of the millions of people waiting for Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow to finally get together, you were probably *thrilled* to see them finally get it on — only to have it narrated by Bran Stark like it was Planet Earth. Fans were pretty sure of two things going into the finale: 1. Dany and Jon were going to have sex (most likely) on a boat, and 2. we were going to learn a bit more about Jon’s real parents, Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. But what we didn’t expect was to learn them at the SAME time in the most awkward scene ever.

But since it did happen, all we can do is wonder exactly how freaked out Jon’s going to be when he learns that he did, in fact, have sex with his biological aunt.

While Jon might be at a total loss, it seems his trusted advisor Ser Davos will be able to provide him with a few comforting words. In a new interview with Variety, Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos, revealed what it’s like to know the incest news is coming:

“I try to avoid it, personally,” Cunningham said. “But it’s not the first time we dealt with it. I tried to think of a funny answer for what Davos would do if he were in the room when the word about Jon comes out. I think the character of Davos would probably turn around and go, ‘Well, at least she’s not your sister.’”

We’re sure Jon would feel a *lot* better after hearing those wise words.

Guys, Jon Snow is an incredibly sensitive and (mostly) pragmatic guy. He’s already going to be in the biggest crisis of his life when he discovers that Ned isn’t his biological father. Couple that with the reveal that the woman he’s in love with — and if theories are correct, going to have a baby with — is actually his aunt, we can imagine Jon Snow going full-spiral. Luckily, the Onion Knight, who valiantly assumed the late Lady Tyrell’s role of sass-master, will be by his side to provide Jon (and honestly, us) some much needed support. And to echo Cunningham as Davos, Dany and Jon aren’t siblings and didn’t know they were related at the time of their boat sex…so at least they have that going for them?

We’re already cringing in anticipation for the big reveal a year or two from now, but at least we’re confident Davos will ensure we survive the ordeal relatively unscathed.
