Sequins & Ruffles Dominated the People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet

The People’s Choice Awards are known for daring red carpet looks without the pretensions of fancier award shows. Last night, the stars definitely didn’t disappoint. From minidresses to power suits, there were two trends that reigned supreme: sequins and ruffles. Here, eight celebs wearing the breakout trends of the 2019 People’s Choice Awards.

1. Cassie Randolph

The Bachelor star, who’s launching her own clothing line this week, opted for a black velvet and silver sequin minidress with a dramatic tie flourish. She accessorized it with her boyfriend, Colton Underwood.

2. Anne Winters

The 13 Reasons Why star modeled the evening’s ruffles trend in an orange tulle Narces number and a sleek architectural bun.

3. Yuna

The “Does She” singer made the power suit (hers is custom Marcell von Berlin) red carpet chic with crimson and black sequins.

4. Gwen Stefani

All hail Stefani’s high-low white rouched and ruffled white gown and its lengthy train. There’s a reason she was hailed as the Fashion Icon of 2019 at last night’s show. OK, Blake Shelton looks pretty cute, too.

5. Brittany Snow

The 33-year-old Almost Family star made her black Temperly London gown pop with intricate silver sequins and beading that put out a high fashion Wonder Woman kind of vibe.

6. Kelsea Ballerini

Not only did the 26-year-old “Homecoming Queen?” singer perform, but she also worked it in a pink voluminous Raisa Vanessa two-piece set with a ruffled crop top.

7. Jaicy Elliot

The Grey’s Anatomy star was on-trend in a cabernet colored Adrianna Papell beaded and sequin gown. And, we’d be remiss not to mention that Elsa braid.

8. Karen Gillan

The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle actress kept it minimalist in a cream shirt dress with a surprising ruffle hem and train. It’s almost work appropriate.

Excuse us while we ponder incorporating ruffles into our everyday wardrobe.
