Senior Resource Fair being held in Dauphin County

SWATARA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — An upcoming event in Dauphin County will connect vital services to seniors and those who care for them.

Swatara Township, Dauphin County will host its second annual Senior Resource Fair on Wednesday, April 24.

The event will take place at the LCBC Church, located on Chambers Hill Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is free to attend and will offer health screenings, scam and fraud prevention, information on senior housing and more.

More than 75 vendors will be there.

WHTM Morning Weather

There are no direct sales allowed at the fair. Organizers say this allows seniors and caregivers to speak to different vendors without feeling pressured to buy anything.

“We have information from Medicare, Medicaid, financial advice. We’re going to be doing blood pressure screenings. There’s also a drug drop off box available for seniors to drop off their unused and expired medication,” Cpl. Brandon Pokrop, of the Swatara Township Police Department said.

Attendees will receive a free tote bag and pill tray, while supplies last.
