Selma Blair Shares Inspirational Video With Tips for Applying Makeup With Multiple Sclerosis

Her fans are saying things like, "Finally a makeup tutorial I can understand."

Selma Blair wants her fans to understand the realities of living with multiple sclerosis — and for them to laugh along with her. She shared a lighthearted makeup tutorial to Instagram on Monday, showcasing how multiple sclerosis has affected her ability to do her own makeup. "Here is my solution to applying makeup with a lack of fine motor skills. #laugh and feel free to reapply my makeup," she captioned the video.

According to the Mayo Clinic, multiple sclerosis symptoms include tremors and a lack of coordination. Blair may have lost the ability to do a precision cut crease, but clearly she's just as glam as ever. With a big smile on her face, Blair shows her post-diagnosis strategy for applying makeup. "Brush. Big. Bronzer," she says to the camera, then runs a big makeup brush over her face. "There. Done."

Fans and people with MS cheered her on in the comment section: "I have MS as well. Watching you laugh and seeing the grace with which you handle this crap disease is an inspiration," wrote one follower. "My wife had MS and you are absolutely the best ambassador for this stupid disease," agreed another. Blair even managed to inspire those who don't have the disease: "Finally a makeup tutorial I can understand."

Blair opened up about her diagnosis back in October. "I am in the thick of it but I hope to give some hope to others. And even to myself. You can’t get help unless you ask," she wrote at the time. Not only is she sharing her symptoms to make others laugh, but she isn't afraid to ask for help. After all, that's what friends (and makeup artists) are here for.
