The 'Legally Blonde' alum will appear on Season 31 of 'Dancing with the Stars.'

Selma Blair recently opened up about her upcoming appearance on Dancing with the Stars amid her battle with multiple sclerosis

The actress, who was diagnosed with the chronic disease back in 2018, was cast for Season 31 of the celebrity dancing competition show alongside professional dance partner Sasha Farber.

While speaking to E! News about the new gig, the 50-year-old star revealed that she is excited to start a new chapter in her healing process–especially when it comes to rebuilding her strength.

"I'm so excited. I'm so happy, so invigorated by this," the Legally Blonde alum told the outlet.

Blair continued: "This is a new chapter of growing my stamina and really healing. Not just healing, but finding huge strength and support."

The actress also said she hopes to inspire others and send a message to those watching at home.

"It is for the viewers, because that is what has given me support," she admitted. "In dark times in my life, there are people that have come forward—strangers on the street or on Instagram, my original fans...I'm doing it for them."

"Kindness and visibility is so important—to explore, be curious and expose people to differences of speech or movement," the Cruel Intentions star added. "It's for everyone at home that it resonates with."

Blair also mentioned her excitement for the rest of her competitors this season, stating, "I'm going to be cheering people so much," while adding, "I think I'm going to have to remember to save my energy for everything that I want to do."

Other celebrities slated to appear on Season 31 include Charli D'Amelio, Wayne Brady, Teresa Giudice, Jordin Sparks, Vinny Guadagnino, Jessie James Decker, and more.

Dancing with the Stars premieres live on Sept. 19, 2022 via Disney+.
