Selling Sunset's Heather Rae Young opens up about the moment she found out she's pregnant

Congratulations are in order for Selling Sunset's Heather Rae Young and her husband Tarek El Moussa who this week revealed they are expecting their first child together.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, real estate agent turned reality TV star Heather told her 2.8 million followers: "Surprise!!! Baby El Moussa coming early 2023!!"

Now, just a day later, the 34-year-old has opened up about the moment she found out she's pregnant, which came as a surprise following her and Tarek's difficult fertility journey. "Now that the secret's out here comes the fun part... story time," she wrote in a caption on Instagram alongside of a video of her sharing the news with Tarek.

"I was two days late on my period and Tarek and I are so in tune with each other that he turned over to me and said 'babe will you take a pregnancy test today' and I said sure but kinda blew it off cause I didn’t think I was pregnant," Heather told her fans. "Once Tarek left for I decided to take a digital test from First Response, and after taking it I went downstairs and got so busy that I totally forgot to go check the results."

The Selling Sunset star continued: "Long story short I went back upstairs once I remembered and saw that I was PREGNANT!!! So I started freaking out (by myself 😆💗)."

Heather went on to reveal she then took two more pregnancy tests before she "finally believed it".

"[I] started getting super excited to share the news with T. We had been trying so hard for a baby and I really wanted to make the surprise special so I ran out and got a little onesie and put it in a gift box with the three #firstresponsepregnanctests – it was so perfect and sweet."

Previously, Heather opened up to her followers about her journey to parenthood, revealing that she had frozen her eggs and was excited to welcome her "little El Moussas." She and Tarek have been married since 2021, and help raise his two children from a previous relationship.

Speaking about what it's been like to be a stepparent, the Selling Sunset OG said on social media earlier this year: "I am a 'step-mom' but in my heart I'm just a mom."
