"Selling Sunset's" Davina Potratz Says She Has "Nothing but Compassion" for Chrishell Stause After Divorce
In season three of Netflix's Selling Sunset, Davina Potratz got a major style upgrade, and as she told Reality Blurb, a "villain" edit. She recently spoke with People magazine to clear the air about where she stands with costar Chrishell Stause.
As you may recall, Potratz didn’t appear the most sympathetic for Stause regarding her divorce from This Is Us star Justin Hartley. Instead, she remained neutral, even saying during the finale that "there are two sides to every story," implying that she needed to hear Hartley’s side, before writing him off as a bad guy. Stause was left in tears.
However, Potratz tells People that since season three filming wrapped in late 2019, she's on good terms with Stause.
"I want to be neutral and that does not mean that I defend Justin and don't support Chrishell. I absolutely support Chrishell and she knows that" Potratz tells the outlet. "I have nothing but compassion and empathy for Chrishell and her situation," she said.
Potratz continued to express that no matter how dramatic the show may appear, "we're one big family and there's no real hate here." (Well, except for the fact that Stause blocked Quinn on Instagram — that feud is definitely real).
Originally from Germany, Potratz is both a broker and the director of the New Development Division at the Oppenheim Group. In season two, Jason Oppenheim gave her one of the agency's top listings — a $75 million estate, which has yet to sell.
Fans have taken to social media to discuss Potratz's stern attitude. Quinn, who was originally pegged as the show's villain, spoke to People about Potratz's energy. "She's got that very German vibe to her: She's not over the top and bubbly and crazy and wild. I told her she needs to work on it, Quinn explains, noting that delivery and voice cadence play a huge role in how one comes off to others.
"With her, she really did get a bad edit. They never showed her smiling, they never showed her laughing. [I think] they did that on purpose," Quinn says.
