'Selling The OC's Polly Has Made Out With Alex Hall More Times Than Tyler

It’s a great day—especially for reality television fans. Selling the OC just dropped its long-awaited second season on Netflix on September 8, bringing everyone back into the wild, wild world of the 11 real estate agents working at the Oppenheim Group office in Orange County.
Sure, Los Angeles was glamorous and all, but Southern California has even more to offer. Take my word for it—these houses are like nothing you’ve ever seen before. One of the enthusiastic agents returning to your screen is Polly Brindle—the vivacious, British, ex-model. “I've just had a great first year in the business. It's been wild,” she told Women's Health last year after the series premiere.
This time around, Polly is deep in the drama (again), and ends up kissing one very handsome, newly-single, coworker (cough, Tyler Stanaland, cough). By the end of the season, Tyler *also* ends up kissing his longtime friend and Polly's BFF, Alex Hall, too. So, naturally, everyone has a lot of questions about where this leaves everyone at the finale.
Polly sat down again with Women's Health right before the season 2 premiere to talk about the O Group drama and…that kiss.
If you couldn't tell from her accent, Polly is from the U.K.
Yup, Polly hails from a tiny town in Northwest England. At 15, a modeling agency scouted her, and after finishing high school, she headed to Paris to model. Polly continued modeling all over Europe—Milan, Barcelona, Germany, and London. And she says it was “such a great experience."
In 2011, Polly moved to the US with her now ex-husband to work for Ford, the American modeling agency. After her divorce, Polly stayed in the states to continue her career, but also starting picking up some side hustles—serving in and managing a restaurant, and managing an architecture firm.
“I was kind of trying to find my feet of what my future looked like,” she told WH.
The pandemic catapulted her career change.
After nine years in LA, Polly decided to regroup during the pandemic. She'd lost three jobs “overnight,” and felt it was a sign for her.
"I'm done with LA, I'm done with entertainment, I'm done with all of these side hustles, trying to get something to work," Polly says of her thought process.
In January of 2021, she started studying to get her real estate license, and by February, Jason Oppenheim had signed her on as one of the first OC office agents. She was officially licensed by June, and the show started shooting a mere five months later.
“I got the normal job, but also a very not normal job came with the normal job," Polly says. “It's a life-changing decision to let so many people into your life. It's not like auditioning to be a character on a TV show, it's like, this is who I am, and it is quite exposing."
She and Alex Hall have talked about "the kiss."
And things are totally normal between them. Yes, these besties kissed the same man, and everything is chill.
"There was nothing in the me and Tyler case. It was only a kiss, it was a drunken kiss," she tells WH before the season 2 premiere. "Alex Hall knew after 12 hours. It wasn't a secret. And yeah, we laughed it off. I’ve made out with Alex Hall more times. Yeah, it didn't make things weird."
For her part, Alex Hall says that "they're both great kissers," so I guess all's well that ends well here.
Polly wasn’t fazed by *that* season 1 nudity scene.
During season 1, a lot went down. At the end of episode three, Polly loses a bet during a beach party with her co-stars, and as a result, she has to go skinny dipping. And when I say Netflix really went out there during that scene, I really mean they went out there. To put it simply, viewers see a whole lot of Polly's naked bod.
“It was a real, actually, team building moment,” she says. “It wasn't done in, like, a sexual way—it was a very collaborative, fun, funny experience with us all. I lost the bet, that was the bet. And also, I was a model for 20 years. I'm not afraid of my own body, you know?”
Things have been icy with Jarvis and Rose for a long time.
The first season included a lot of tension with the two Alexandras—Alexandra Jarvis and Alexandra Rose—and it only intensifies as the season progresses. It comes up again during season 2, and things get quite heated. But the gals still have to work in the office together every day, and attend the same social events.
“They don't speak to me, we are not close," Polly said after season 1 aired. "We can be in the same room together. We just don't look or speak to each other."
Polly explained that they just all have strong, distinct personalities. "Evidently, we just don't gel well together. It's a shame because they do so well in business and I love a celebration," she said, adding "no one really wants to celebrate their wins ‘cause they've just made everyone feel so bad about themselves.”
Their friend group has been portrayed accurately on the show.
These coworkers are definitely buddy-buddy. In the show, they make pizzas at Alex Hall’s house and hang out together a lot. And Polly has said it’s true to real life.
“We talk all day every day, we hang out socially, we're a very tight knit group,” she added.
For the most part, not a lot changed when cameras were added to the mix. But of course, there were some outliers.
Polly previously said that there were some cast mates who "totally ignored me" during her first six months at the O Group, but as soon as cameras started rolling, that changed. “It's like, why are you talking to me now? I tried to be your friend and you made it really clear that you didn't wanna be my friend," she says.
Selling the OC is now streaming its second eight-episode season on Netflix now.
