This was the unofficial going out uniform of the Pussycat Dolls era.

When people reflect (fondly or cringingly, take your pick) on '00s fashion, it's usually faded, soft-focus memories involving Juicy Couture sweats, Hérvé Léger bandage dresses, and Real Housewives-approved going-out tops. But Selena Gomez's latest Instagram Story was a blast from the not-so-distant past, recalling a combination that was very much top of mind for anyone who watched The Hills religiously and had the Pussycat Dolls on permanent rotation.

Post-VMAs win, Gomez shared a mirror selfie that showed an outfit that mashed up medium-wash jeans and a tan corset. While we are firmly in the year of our lord 2023, Gomez's outfit looks ready for a round of cosmopolitans at Les Deux (which is sadly closed now but lives on forever in our memories). Gomez's mesh corset had vertical seams and a straight neckline and she tucked the lingerie staple into her stonewashed denim. She wore her hair down in the shot and added a delicate necklace to finish the look. While she didn't share exactly where she was, she was surrounded by marble fixtures, a gold mirror, and even a chandelier.

Earlier this week, Gomez took home a Video Music Award for "Calm Down," her collaboration with Rema. While walking the red carpet, the Nigerian musician said that working with Gomez was a dream come true and that he was impressed that she listened to his music.

"Everybody rocks with Selena, first of all," he said, according to People. "I've been rocking with her, and it was a blessing to find out she actually rocks with me. She listens to my music."

He added that since their collaboration, the two have become friends and he hopes that they can find some time in his schedule to really celebrate their VMAs victory.

"Me and Selena talk often. We're pals," he finished. "We've not had the time to party and celebrate because we're all working, but of course, we always go back to take it all in."
