Selena Gomez Wore a Gorgeous Red Cutout Dress With Black Rosettes at the 2024 Golden Globes

Selena Gomez brought out her first big red carpet look for 2024 tonight, and the Only Murders in the Building actress did not disappoint. The star wore a custom Armani Privé red asymmetrical, cutout dress with black rosettes at the Golden Globes. She accessorized with diamond jewelry, and her hair was styled up in a bun. She posed solo on the red carpet rather than with her boyfriend, Benny Blanco. Had they arrived together, it would’ve been their red carpet debut.

Gomez is up for Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy, for her work in Only Murders in the Building. In a recent podcast interview that got major media pickup this week, Gomez spoke about her intention to focus more on acting in the future.

“I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting [if asked to pick between it and music],” she said. The hosts of the show pointed out that she doesn’t need to pick and can do both. She replied, “You’re right, but I am going to want to chill because I’m tired.”

Acting had always been her first dream, she said, even back when she was on Disney Channel: “I wanted to be an actress, I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently that hobby turned into something else,” she shared. “I don’t think I’m the best singer but I do know how to tell stories and I love being able to make songs.”

While Blanco and Gomez [did/didn’t] make their red carpet debut, there is one other reunion that could happen at the Globes: Gomez’s longtime close friend Taylor Swift is expected to attend. Swift is nominated for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement for her Eras tour concert film. If either Swift or Gomez win their categories tonight, it would be their first Golden Globe.
