Selena Gomez turned 26 over the weekend, and she marked the big occasion in style. The singer looked relaxed and carefree in a light pink, off-the-shoulder dress that’s perfect for summertime events like, y'know, casually hanging with your crew on a yacht to ring in your birthday. Friends like Sam Lopez and Connar Franklin shared snaps of the swanky soirée, which appeared to be Italian-themed based on the copious amounts of pasta appearing in the Instagram stories of Selena’s assistant, Theresa Mingus.
The day before, Selena wore a denim jumpsuit with a plunging neckline to get the party started at an Imagine Dragons concert in Inglewood, California. Friends presented her with cupcakes, and singer Grace VanderWaal, the band’s opener, was there to take part in the surprise and wished her a happy birthday on Instagram. "Huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY 4 SELENA!!!!!!!!!! Thank for everything I hope you have the best day bebegurllllllll," Grace wrote in her caption.
Selena herself has been pretty quiet on social media — she hasn’t posted anything on Instagram or Twitter since July 13. But that hasn’t stopped fans from sending their well wishes, with many paying tribute to all of her past birthday celebrations and ensembles, which have ranged from a fuschia pink dress to long-sleeved PJs (proving that sometimes comfiness is what matters most on your bday). One fan wrote that Selena deserves “nothing but happiness,” while another said that they hope she has “an amazing day” with loved ones.
Judging by the photos and videos shared by Selena’s friends who were at her side throughout her epic birthday weekend, it’s pretty clear that she has an amazing support system and is living her best life. It looks like 26 is off to a great start, so here’s to the best year yet, Selena!
