Seen rocking a Canadian tuxedo in Beverly Hills and on a trip with friends to Sydney, Australia, the singer showed up on friend Anna Collins’ Instagram on Wednesday night, wearing a sweatshirt that speaks louder than words. In the photo, Selena sits on a bed playing the Ukulele. She’s wearing black sweatpants and a black top that says “Choose Empathy” across the chest.

There are so many things that Selena could be referencing with her top’s statement, though it’s more of an over-arching theme than pointed message at its core. What’s more, in a fashion world that is rife with statement-making tees — from body positivity to female empowerment — Selena’s message is a compassionate one that resounds in everyone's hearts and minds.
