Selena Gomez Wears Black Fendi Boots and Strapless Dress

Selena Gomez is a style icon we can always count on when we're in need of a little fashion inspo, whether it's the perfect look for walking the hallways at school or glittery vibes for going out with friends. We love her down-to-earth attitude when it comes to getting dressed, especially her effortless ability to mix super-affordable options with more elegant pieces. But like all good fashionistas, Selena also knows how to glam things up for any given occasion — which is exactly what she did in her latest Instagram post.

In a series of two photos she shared Saturday, September 8, the 26-year-old served lewks in a simple but sleek black strapless dress, which she accentuated with a high ponytail and classic hoop earrings. Already giving off major Catwoman vibes, she took things to the next level with a smoky eye, rust-colored shiny lip, and — of course — a perfect cat-eye.

Photos of Selena's full outfit soon made the rounds, and it's pretty safe to say that the bottom half was just as fierce as the top...although slightly more confusing. The dress, which contained a solid slit up the leg, fell right above Selena's knee-high Fendi boots. Yep, that's right, those are boots — not socks, as you might think at first glance. And if you want to fool your friends (or Instagram followers) with a pair of your own, you can buy 'em for a cool $1,190. An optical illusion never looked this chic.
