Selena Gomez Shares Personal Photos From Her Italy Birthday Vacation on Instagram

Selena Gomez generally keeps her personal life off of her Instagram by choice, but the singer made a rare exception this afternoon. Gomez shared four photos from her vacation last week in Italy. There's a shot of her on a yacht, her posing with her friends at sunset (and kissing her best friend Raquelle Stevens on the back of her head), her grinning ear to ear at a dinner table, and her at a pasta-making lesson. The aesthetic is prettiest vacation with friends ever, and the caption reflects it.

"Sometimes I can’t express how truly grateful I am," Gomez wrote. "Now.. Back to work." The post already has 2 million likes so far, and it's been up for less than an hour.

Gomez's work will include her upcoming album and promoting new music from it. Entertainment Tonight reported that some songs would be coming out before 2019 ends. The Italy vacation (in Rome and the Amalfi Coast) was Gomez's way to unwind before things wind up.

"She just celebrated her birthday in Italy and is really enjoying this time off before things ramp up again," Entertainment Tonight's source said. "Selena has been working on new music and plans to release some this year. The new music is going to be a different side of Selena and very personal. Selena has gone through a lot over the years and is ready to share it with the world."

E! reported around the same time that the full album will be coming out in 2020. "Selena has been spending a lot of time with her family and friends, being low-key," its source said in July. "She has also been writing new music in the studio and hoping to release something early next year. She is in a much better headspace and is really happy right now."
