Half of the fun of going to a concert is dressing up for the occasion—and that’s something Selena Gomez embraced with gusto this past Sunday evening. A pop star in her own right, Gomez took in some country music at a Kacey Musgraves concert in Los Angeles. For the occasion, she remixes her style with a new, giddy-up beat; she was seen backstage with Musgraves, and it’s as though the two stars could even be mistaken for being in the same band.
Gomez did an elevated take on the western look: she wore a checkered dress with puffed shoulders, styling it with a cowboy hat that had a smiley face on the front. Naturally, she didn’t forget her suede western boots. Her tiny yellow bag, meanwhile, offered a pop of color. At Gomez’s side, Musgraves donned a leopard-print jumpsuit with flared legs.
Considering yeehaw style has been thrust into the spotlight by Lil Nas X, Gomez’s new aesthetic is for sure on-trend. And sporting the look alongside a present-day country icon made the fashion moment twice as nice.
