Selena Gomez is setting the bar for the best way to ring in 2020: relaxing on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Per E! News, on New Year's Eve, Gomez was lounging in a green bikini on a yacht in Hawaii with her friends, and she's been spending the first few days of 2020 pretty much the same way.

"Selena is spending a week on the Hawaiian island of Oahu to ring in 2020," a source told E!. "She is staying in a house with her group of close girlfriends, and they all are enjoying a relaxing vacation with beach time and hanging out together." The source continued about New Year's Eve: "Selena seemed completely relaxed and happy. She had no makeup on and was very casual and comfortable with everyone. It was a mellow day and just a chance to be out on the water enjoying the perfect weather."

Friday night, Gomez shared photos of her Hawaiian adventure on her grid. In the images, she is taking in the Hawaiian sunset on a yacht while wearing a white swimsuit coverup.

On her story, she shared photos of her hanging ten on a rock, looking serene while leaning back in a chair, and spending snuggle time with friends.

Gomez's decision to spend a few days to reset at start of the year makes a lot of sense, considering what's coming her way in the next week. Her new album, Rare, releases on January 10. The night before, on January 9, she is celebrating her new creation with an iHeart Radio album release party with her fans.

"I sound like such a nerd, but I cannot wait for this to come out," Gomez says. "It has taken a few years, and things that started in the beginning are solid and still a part of my record, and then some just came naturally and just ... it was so easy."
