Selena Gomez rides roller coasters and talks about Taylor Swift’s OG squad on “Carpool Karaoke”

It probably comes as no surprise that when James Corden needed to cut loose and have some fun, he turned to Selena Gomez. The 23-year-old singer joined the host for our favorite segment, “Carpool Karaoke,” and she took it to places it’s never been before — namely, on top of a roller coaster.

While James was a little perturbed by being whipped through the air and plunging great depths, Selena Gomez didn’t once stop singing along to her hit single “Come & Get It,” which just proves that she’s a true pop star.

True pop stars also know when to treat themselves, so after their crazy rollercoaster adventures, the two decided to grab McDonald’s, much to the delight of everyone working. They went in search of the Selena Gomez cups, AKA the drink cups that had the lyrics of “Love You Like A Love Song” printed on the side, but fries didn’t hurt as well.

As they chowed down, they discussed one of Selena Gomez’s oldest friends, Taylor Swift.

“You are very much officially a member of the squad,” James says.

“I’d like to consider myself an OG,” Selena replies. James then began peppering her with questions, like who takes the minutes at the meetings (“What are we meeting about?” Selena asks, confused) and whether or not she thinks girl squads are sexist.

“Well I think this industry could use a little female sexism,” Selena says in response to the fact that no men are in the squad. “I think we have a right to be that way. It’s a lot harder doing what I have to do.”

All in all, the trip was a huge success, and we’re sure both Selena and James feel rejuvenated and ready to get back to work — and if not, one more roller coaster ride can’t hurt.
