Selena Gomez Reacts to Miley Cyrus’s New Album Announcement

ICYMI, Miley Cyrus announced her new album, Endless Summer Vacation, which drops on March 10. (And her new single, “Flowers” debuts on January 13, aka Liam Hemsworth’s birthday 🤭.) You already know we’re counting down the days until this album’s debut, and apparently, Selena Gomez is as well.

On Thursday, Miley took to Instagram to promote her eighth studio album and reveal its cover art. In the stunning snapshot, the multihyphenate wears a black cut-out bodysuit, black stiletto heels, and chic black sunnies. Our jaws *instantly* dropped and fans and celebrities alike sounded off in the comments, sharing their excitement for the icon’s new music.

Well-wishers include artist Kylie Minogue, who dropped a “🔥” emoji, and mom Tish Cyrus, who wrote, “My girl is on 🔥.” Selena, who starred on the Disney Channel with Miley in the early aughts, left a comment that’s simple and succinct, yet successfully wraps up exactly what we’re all thinking: “Damn.”

We’re more than ready for 2023 to be the year of Miley and Selena, who’s also teased new music in recent months. During a December 2022 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sel teased her upcoming studio album: “I’m so used to writing sad-girl songs because I’m good at that,” she said. “But I’m ready to have some fun, and I think people are going to like it.” She didn’t disclose a release date, but fingers crossed that it’ll be sometime this year.

In the meantime, we’ll be rewatching the official trailer for Miley’s new album, which has been described as a “reflection of the strength [Miley has] found in focusing on both her physical and mental well-being,” according to Variety.
