  • Selena Gomez gave Demi Lovato a shout-out for her songwriting skills.

  • Demi just released “Still Have Me,” which is fully about Max Ehrich.

  • Earlier this year, Demi said she’s no longer friends with Selena, but that doesn’t mean there’s any drama between them.

  • Clearly, Selena still supports her fellow Disney alum.

Demi Lovato just called off her engagement to Max Erich after his alleged shady online behavior and reportedly using her to further his Hollywood ambitions. To help process everything that’s going on in her life, Demi turned to music and dropped a new song this morning.

In “Still Have Me,” Demi sings, “It feels like someone’s stolen / All the light I ever had” and “Everything around me shattered / All the highs are now just lows / But it doesn’t even matter / ’Cause I’d rather be alone.” I mean, that’s just a sample of this woman’s incredible talent. Earlier this year, she performed “Anyone” at the Grammys and blew everyone away with her honest lyrics crying out for help.

At the time of her Grammys performance, Selena posted, “I wish there were words to describe how beautiful, inspirational, and DESERVED this moment was. Demi, I’m so happy for you. Thank you for your courage and bravery.” And in a new video filmed during a Google event, Selena praised Demi again and said, “I think we have some of the best lyricists in the game right now. Dua and Ariana, Taylor, Demi—these artists are just lifting up the game with their lyrics. It makes me so happy.”

When Selena made her first statement about Demi’s courage and bravery, Demi made it clear that even though they’re not friends anymore, she “will always have love for her.” Obviously, Selena feels the same and is still there to uplift Demi and her career.
