Selena Gomez Performed "Anxiety" With Julia Michaels

Selena Gomez might currently have a packed schedule, what with promoting new music and continuing her reign as the queen of cozy fashions, but she did find time for a surprise return to the stage. In one of her first live performances since taking the stage at Coachella with Cardi B, the singer joined her BFF Julia Michaels for an unexpected duet.

During Julia's continued tour across the U.S., she brought out Selena for a recent Los Angeles stop at the Fonda Theatre. The two got together to perform their single, "Anxiety," and as video from the evening demonstrated, the besties had a blast.

Introducing the song with instructions for the audience to hug one another, Julia and Selena then launched into their first-time ever performing "Anxiety" live together. The single, which was released in January, features the two opening up about their experiences with anxiety and depression. Selena had previously touched on its importance, writing, "This song is extremely close to my heart as I’ve experienced anxiety and know a lot of my friends do too. You’re never alone if you feel this way. The message is much needed and I really hope you guys like it!"

Along with an adorable lyrical flub, which she handles like a pro, Selena also joins Julia in bopping along to the catchy single. Following the duet, Selena shared a selfie of the two, writing, "My love, my heart and my soul @juliamichaels." Julia expressed similar sentiments, and shared the photo in her Instagram Story with three crying emoji faces.

The performance is particularly important for Selena, as the singer had made the decision to take some personal time out of the spotlight. She had announced her intentions to step away from social media and work in 2018, but recently, she's returned, releasing two new singles, "Lose You to Love Me" and "Look at Her Now."
