If you've been waiting for a brand-new Selena Gomez song, the wait is finally over. The pop starlet just joined Trevor Daniel in a brand-new remix of his track, 'Past Life' and Sel had a big reason why she decided to join him on the single.

Selena and Trevor posted a small part of a cute Q&A that they did for the song and she opened up about how she felt when she listened to the track.

"When I heard the song the first time, I loved the fact that it was kind of like a story about all the things that we tend to hold onto and the patterns that we have," she said. "And I’m very, very vocal about my personal experiences [and] making decisions that maybe aren’t necessarily healthy for me."

Although she didn't mention her past relationship with Justin Bieber, there's a possibility that it could be one of the experiences that she is talking about in the song.

Selena has been open about how she felt when they were together, even calling it toxic back in October 2019.

"You're in a phase of life where you experience love for the first time and I think that can just be just a little toxic," she said while on the Zach Sang Show. "You have this codependency that you think is love and then you have this addiction to the passion and the frustration with each other that you think, 'Oh, that's love,' or fighting or doing all this stuff, 'Oh that's love,' and I believed that for a long time."
