Selena Gomez Opens Up About Her First Kiss With Dylan Sprouse

Last year, Selena Gomez proved once again how ~relatable~ she is by sharing that she had a childhood crush on Cole Sprouse. But it turns out that the “Rare” singer actually had her first kiss on-camera with Cole’s twin brother, Dylan, when the two shared the screen in an episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

During a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Selena recounted the moment she and Dylan locked lips during the episode titled “A Midsummer’s Nightmare,” where Sel guest starred as Gwen. “It was my first kiss — on-camera!” Selena recalled, adding: “It was one of the worst days of my life!”

In a previous interview with Twist Magazine, Selena further described the kiss, saying: “I actually leaned in to kiss him, and I had my eyes closed a little too early and I ended up missing, like, half of his lips. So it ended up being the most awkward kiss in the world … I was 12, so it was okay and it was good. Thank goodness he is such an awesome guy!”

FWIW, Dylan has talked about their on-screen smooch too, telling Young Hollywood in 2018: “There's a lot of sad, depressing first kiss stories…I wasn't very successful with women for a long time, but I think my first kiss was on a set, and I think it might have been with Selena Gomez.”

While chatting with Kelly, Selena dished a bit further about her youthful crush on Cole, which is immortalized in the form of some particularly memorable doodles in her childhood bedroom. “I was obsessed with that show,” Selena said about The Suite Life, adding: “And I thought we were going to be together.” It seems a though the universe had different plans, but at least Selena can look back and laugh today!
