Selena Gomez Asked Google’s CEO to Remove Election Disinformation Ads ASAP

Selena Gomez is trying to make an impact on the upcoming election and wants to stop the spread of disinformation so people can stick to the facts. To achieve this goal, Selena hopped on Instagram and slid into the DMs of a Very Important Person who makes a massive difference in what we see online: Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

Yesterday, Selena publicized an Instagram Story of a message she sent directly to Pichai. She wrote:

Selena didn’t name-drop any specific ads, but in August, the Washington Post published a report that Google approved and ran an ad from a conservative nonprofit organization that contained false info and doubted the security of mail-in voting in three key swing states—Florida, Michigan, and Texas.

Selena recently admitted that this election was her first time voting. During an appearance on Voting Power Hour, Selena said she never felt the need to vote before because she didn’t think her vote mattered, but she’s since realized that’s not true. Explaining herself, she added:
