Selena Gomez Makes First Appearance in Months on Friends’ Snow Tubing Trip

After months away, Selena Gomez has returned to the public eye and Instagram...only on her friend’s account. Gomez’s close friend and Puma campaign costar Connar Franklin shared new photos today of Gomez with her and their friend group on a snow tubing trip. Gomez is all smiles in black outerwear.

This is the first time Gomez has been photographed out in public since she was reportedly hospitalized for a low white blood count (a complication that can arise in kidney transplant patients) and ultimately decided to get additional help for her depression and anxiety at an East Coast facility in October. A source told People at the time that Gomez “realized she needed to seek additional help for her ongoing emotional issues. She’s surrounded by close family and has a lot of support. She’s doing better now and is seeking treatment on the East Coast.”

Gomez herself has not shared any photos of the trip yet and has remained off Instagram. The star announced that she was taking a social media break at the end of September. She wrote on a selfie of herself then, "Taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given. Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi."
