  • On Tuesday, Selena Gomez stepped out into the sun of Capri, Italy, looking as chic as one can during a casual European vacation.

  • In her wide-brim straw hat, flowing dress, and Grecian-styled sandals, she channeled chic, breezy summer style.

From ancient empires to the flourishing of the Renaissance, there is something about the Mediterranean that inspires a certain kind of sun-kissed and refined aesthetic. Even Selena Gomez's looks on her Italian holiday can attest to that.

The newly 27-year-old singer (who celebrated her birthday in Rome on Monday) was spotted strolling around the streets of Capri, Italy, on Tuesday. Her ensemble—complete with quintessential summer accessories like a wide-brim straw hat and a pair of Grecian-inspired block sandals—easily impressed us as the kind of outfit a divine goddess might wear in the 21st century.

Her straw hat, The Spencer Boater by Lack of Color, features a broad black ribbon, while her sandals, the Lefki Block by Ancient Greek Sandals, feature cedar brown straps and wooden block heels. She also carried a brown-and-white bucket bag and accessorized with thick gold hoop earrings.

However, the ultimate showstopper was her creamy cotton dress, the Geraldine maxi by Three Graces. With its ruffled collar and flowing silhouette, Gomez looked both relaxed and elegant.

Her Italian vacation comes on the heels of her cousin's wedding, in which she served as the maid of honor just last week. There, she stunned in another gorgeous dress—a slimming, off-the-shoulder, floor-length black gown, which was just as sophisticated as the rest of her vacation wardrobe.
