Selena Gomez and Jennifer Stone Reenacted This Iconic Song From ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’

IMHO, Selena Gomez is the queen of lip-sync videos on TikTok (see: this duet with Camila Cabello, this clip about texting, this video about dating—the list goes on). And over the weekend, Selena solidified her icon status with the help of her former Wizards of Waverly Place costar Jennifer Stone.

The two actors teamed up to re-create one of the catchiest bops to ever emerge from the Disney Channel: the “Crazy Hat” song, which first made its appearance in season 1 of Wizards of Waverly Place.

“We had to…” Selena wrote. In the video, the duo stand side by side and duet one of the first versions of the song while acting out the dance that goes along with it. Jennifer also shared the clip on her TikTok account and captioned it, “Reunited and it feels so good. 🥂”

The clip has already racked up more than 18 million views on Selena’s account and more than 138K on Jennifer’s.

Selena and Jennifer played besties Alex Russo and Harper Finkle on Wizards of Waverly Place, which aired for four seasons from 2007 to 2012. In the first season, whenever the two spotted a hat (e.g., a beanie, a cowboy hat), they would break out singing and dancing, “What’s that? A hat….” You know the rest.

Fans and former costars alike couldn’t get enough of Selena and Jennifer’s reunion. Maria Canals-Barrera, who played Alex’s mom, Theresa Russo, in the series, commented, “LOVE this. Love you two! 💕❤️♥️” JoJo Siwa wrote, “I gotta go this is too iconic,” while another fan commented, “And suddenly everything is right in the world.”

I’ll definitely have this song on repeat in my head for the next three to four business days, but it’s okay because the nostalgia it’s bringing is so worth it. ❤️
