Selena Gomez Hid a Major Clue About Taylor Swift’s New Song in Her Instagram Over a Year Ago
It's only a couple hours until Taylor Swift releases her first TS7 song-and Swift has given several clues already about what the song's title is. But it looks like the very first hint about Swift's single was actually posted on Swift's birthday in 2017 by her friend Selena Gomez. Swift truly does play the long game.
For context, multiple hints emerged today signaling that the first single on Swift's seventh album could be titled "ME!"
The first was Swift's Nashville mural, which she commissioned. The word "ME!" was added to it this morning. Swift teased it on her Instagram, writing, "So... @kelseymontagueart helped me pull off the best surprise clue reveal today in Nashville!! Thank you to everyone who showed up, I’ve never been more proud of your FBI level detective skills. Next clue: I’ll be joining the magnificent @robinrobertsgma for a chat tonight on ABC live from Nashville."

Then fans noticed in the afternoon that Swift registered a track called "ME!" with Panic! At the Disco two days ago. The discography information seemingly reveals that the song is in the alternative/punk genre and that Swift collaborated with Brendon Urie and his band for the track.

Swift also reblogged a Tumblr post of a fan theorizing that "ME!" was the single or album title of Swift's new work, so she's definitely stoking the fire of this idea:

Then Swift posted an Instagram this afternoon with the word "ME!" in the caption. "ME! by the one and only @valheria123 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗" she wrote.

All these ME! clues came today, but super-sleuth fans noticed that the first reference to ME! was one Gomez posted way back in December 2017. In her birthday tribute to Swift, Gomez wore, "I’m glad you were born. You write all the thoughts some aren’t able to articulate. (ME!) Thank you for giving a voice to this world that is authentic and inspiring. I wish some knew how big your heart actually is.. it’s fierce, bold and freaking wild with light. I’m glad you protect that. Love you @taylorswift"

Gomez did actually talk about Swift's new music today at We Day. Entertainment Tonight asked Gomez on the red carpet about Swift's new music. Gomez confirmed it was coming, saying, "Oh yeah! Oh my goodness, yeah, it’s amazing, you just wait!”
