The world is seemingly always enamored by French style and beauty. There is just that certain je ne sais quois that makes anything from France seem all the more chic. The obsession is why French drugstore products are worldwide skincare staples, French manicures are considered the epitome of classic chic, and French fashion brands are some of the most desired. It's also why Selena Gomez turned to the country for inspo for her latest song and video.

On February 22, Gomez dropped the video for "Love On," which saw her decked out in a plethora of outfits worthy of Paris Fashion Week while partying in the South of France, dancing in full ballet ensembles, eating croissants, and waiting to "turn her love on."

Of all the French girl inspo the artist served in the video, it was her balletcore outfit that we couldn't help but obsess over. While joined by a handful of other ballerinas and singing, "why are we conversing over this steak tartare," she wore the perfect coquette high ponytail, courtesy of her go-to hairstylist, Marissa Marino.

All of Gomez's hair was tied back tight into a pony on the crown of her head. The hair was tight and slicked down until it reached the crown of her head. However, the hair forming the long pony was full of volume and shine, falling all the way to the middle of her back with pin-straight styling. But it didn't stop there. To keep the look in place, Marino tied the most perfect coquette bow around the crown with loose strands dangling and framing her face, making Gomez look like one of Degas' dancers.

The coquette-ballerina style continued with her outfit—an all-white dress with sheer stripes consisting of a large, over-the-top tutu, a bow around her waist, a tight-fitting top, and a pop of cherry red in her ballet flats.

She also seemed to nod to classic French girl icons during the video. Her new '60s-inspired bangs were on full display, which were obviously inspired by Jane Birkin or Brigette Bardot. In another homage to Bardot, she wore a thick black headband paired with a dramatic cat eye. She also wore an oversized black bow perched on top of her fluffy bob that looks just like Anna Karina's hair accessory of choice.

As for outfits, she went with a hot pink minidress, an over-the-top ruffle black sequin dress with bows on her matching heels, and a floral baby blue dress she wore with a netted headpeice to get her nails done the balcony of a French chateau.

What nails was she getting, you ask? None other than a classic square French manicure done by none other than her go-to nail artist, Tom Bachik—who just so happened to make an appearance in the video pampering the icon's fingertips. The nails started with a classic, pink-tinged base and continued into bright white square-shaped tips. Of course, with a glossy finish we would expect from a French fashionista.
