Selena Gomez Had a Pasta-Filled Birthday Party on a Yacht—How Was Your Weekend?
Selena Gomez had the best idea for her twenty-sixth birthday party: a pasta-filled get-together on a yacht alongside several of her closest friends. And because she's Selena Gomez, she actually got to execute it. Meanwhile, the closest thing I'll ever get to a "pasta yacht party" is eating Olive Garden takeout on some bench in the Jersey Shore.
That's OK, though, because I can live vicariously through all the yachting and pasta eating Gomez and her friends did Sunday night (July 22). The "Wolves" singer kept her own social media channels quiet during the party, but her pals in attendance were posting up a storm. Let's start with Gomez's assistant, Theresa Mingus, who uploaded several videos to Instagram Story of the pasta action.
Meanwhile, a few of Gomez's girlfriends uploaded pics of their squad on the yacht looking gorgeous and happy AF—probably because there's a never-ending supply of pasta on board. "My girls," Gomez's friend Connar Franklin posted.
The actual dinner seemed lit too. Below, check out several videos of Gomez and her friends dancing, blowing party horns, and throwing confetti around. Again, all this happiness is no-doubt related to the pasta they just ate. Seriously, it looks so good.
The day before her yacht party, Gomez attended an Imagine Dragons concert, and their opening act, Grace VanderWaal, threw a little surprise party for Gomez backstage. "Huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY 4 SELENA!!!!!!!!!! Thank for everything I hope you have the best day bebegurllllllll," she wrote.
This was matched by Gomez's other best friend, Taylor Swift, who sent her a cake all the way from New York City. "Will distance stop me from celebrating my best friend's bday? I MEAN I COULD BUT WHY WOULD I WANT 2," Swift posted on Instagram Stories about the cake, referencing Gomez's song "Hands to Myself."
Gomez broke her birthday social media silence on Monday (July 23), uploading two pics from the weekend and writing a sweet caption. "Another year down," she wrote. "Thank you for all the bday love. I couldn’t be more appreciative of you and my best friends for celebrating with me. I love you guys like crazy! God bless!"
Sounds like an A-plus birthday weekend to us.
