Selena Gomez Got Matching Tattoos with Her Best Friends
There’s no question that Selena Gomez truly values her friendships. Even from afar, we as fans have been able to see how much Selena’s relationships with friends like Francia Raísa and Taylor Swift have meant to her. And this weekend, the singer and actor let us all in on another major BFF moment: A visit to a tattoo parlor for some seriously meaningful ink.
Selena took to Instagram to share a series of three posts documenting the 26th birthday celebration of her best friend, Courtney Barry. Selena and Courtney, as well as friends Ashley Cook and Raquelle Stevens, began the festivities with pizza and ice cream before hitting the parlor. There, all four pals got the same dainty tattoo: The number ‘4,’ and Selena — who just celebrated her own 26th birthday — explained the meaningful reason on Instagram. “#4 because these women have stayed by my side for 7 years (@ashley_cook 12 years),” she wrote. “4, because you are my 4 for the rest of my life. I love you ladies. You all inspire me to be better, stronger, closer to god and we have lived the most INSANE story together already. Can’t wait for 50 more!!”
Alongside the emotional caption, Selena shared a slideshow of pictures documenting the inking experience — including a snap of Selena and Courtney being the good friends they are and comforting Raquel, who Selena said in the caption “had an actual panic attack 🙄” before adding, “it’s a dot!”
In her third Instagram post from the birthday celebration, Selena revealed that she and Courtney also got one more matching tat: The number ‘1,’ which they both had inked on their rib cages. “And lastly, my actual #1 @courtneyjbarry you are an incredible woman,” Selena wrote in the caption. “The way you handle life’s most confusing moments is indescribable and graceful. You are moved by the littlest stories to the most heartbreaking ones, you will give someone your perfume if they say you smell nice, you are freaking hilarious and always stand firm in your faith, a loving sister, an amazing friend and a beautiful daughter. You are the definition of FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made baby! #1”.
In her own post sharing the same photo, Courtney kept the caption short and super sweet: "we finally did it!" she wrote. "my number one and my sister forever @selenagomez ❤️"
