Selena Gomez Gave the Sweetest Toast at Her Bodyguard's Wedding

She sings, she dances, she makes a great toast.

To say Selena Gomez is a jack-of-all-trades would be an understatement. The multitalented singer, songwriter, actor and performer has accrued a whole list of accolades in her short time in the spotlight. But she also keeps it real, heading home for her friends' bachelorette parties and weddings to be with them on their big days. It was her bodyguard's turn to tie the knot recently, and of course Gomez was there for him, too—and as it turns out, she even gave a super-sweet toast at his wedding.

On Friday, Gomez attended the nuptials of her longtime bodyguard in Redlands, California. Between posing for pictures with guests and showing off her skills as child whisperer with the ceremony's youngest attendees, Gomez took the mic to offer up an adorably thoughtful toast to the newlyweds, commenting on her first impressions of the bride and how happy the married pair seemed to make each other.

"I had the pleasure of meeting Melissa, and I was thrilled, first off, 'cause she's a badass. Second, because of how much you love her," Gomez said to her bodyguard, the groom, in her speech. "It's so special. I'm very honored to be here and to celebrate you both...God bless you guys. We will be praying for you, and thank you so much."

Prior to Friday's outing, Gomez has been calculated with her public appearances, slowly coming back into the public eye after a brief hiatus to focus on her health. In an Instagram post back in January, the star addressed her time away and thanked fans for the continued support. "Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth. It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming," she wrote. "Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all."

But despite her less-than-easy last year, Gomez was all smiles and heartfelt words at her bodyguard's wedding—we're pretty sure none of the guests will be forgetting her or her speech anytime soon.
