Selena Gomez Delivers a Touching Bridesmaid Speech at Her Cousin’s Wedding
Selena Gomez is in the running for bridesmaid of the year. Over the weekend, the singer served as the maid of honor at her cousin Priscilla DeLeon’s wedding to Jay Cosme in her home state of Texas. Gomez stunned in a black, off-the-shoulder gown with a thigh-high slit as she stood beside her cousin, but it was her heartfelt maid of honor speech that truly caught everyone’s attention.

In a video captured from the reception, Gomez can be heard giving a sweet toast to the newlyweds. “You taught me to be strong through anything, no matter what happens,” she said. “I pray for you guys all the time. You’re beautiful. I love you.”

Gomez also played another huge role in DeLeon’s nuptials: The former Disney Channel actress helped the bride design her dream dress and Gomez purchased it for her. DeLeon wrote at the time: “When your maid of honor makes your dream dress a reality and surprises you with it!”
Gomez has certainly been in celebration mode this year, because DeLeon’s wedding wasn’t the first time she nailed her bridal duties. In January 2019, she attended a bridal shower for her longtime friend, Courtney Barry, before they traveled to Cabo for her bachelorette party. Weeks later in February, she attended Barry’s wedding in a stunning black embellished gown.
