Selena Gomez Debuts Long, Blunt Bob Haircut at the American Music Awards

Selena Gomez's hair is somehow always having a moment, but that rings true more than ever this fall. With the October 24 drop of the "Look At Her Now" music video, she inspired countless headlines about her lengthy extensions and two-toned rope braid. Not long before that, her caramel-colored balayage highlights did the same. We've gradually gotten used to seeing the singer and actress with waist-skimming hair, but at the American Music Awards on November 24, she pulled another fast one on the red carpet with a brand-new long bob fit for royalty.

Gomez opened the awards ceremony by singing "Look At Her Now" and "Lose You to Love Me," her first televised performance in two years. She shared her full look from the show to Instagram after the fact, writing, "Feels good to be back. Thank you to my entire team and to my fans that stand by me. All of this is for you and because of you. Excited for this chapter." She tagged her hairstylist Marissa Marino in the photo, meaning the new blunt cut is all thanks to her (as it goes for most of Gomez's fresh cuts and styles). Marino posted the same photo in black and white, captioned, "I have no words."

Her new single and new haircut weren't all Gomez debuted at the AMAs, either. Just before the ceremony, Gomez posted a collage of several film photos to Instagram, and one of them stealthily revealed a new tattoo. It's a pair of praying hands, with what appears to be a rosary dangling off of them, located on her thigh. She must've paid a visit to New York City tattoo shop Bang Bang, seeing as she tagged it in the photo right above the new ink. With new hair, new music, new tattoos, and so much more to come, it appears 2020 is going to be the year of Selena.
