Selena Gomez Confirms New Music Is OTW in TikTok Studio Selfies

If booked and busy was a person, it would definitely be Selena Gomez. The Only Murders in the Building actor, Rare Beauty mogul, and chart-topping singer sent her fans into a frenzy this past May when she announced that she was working on a new studio album. Weeks later, Sel official teased that she's working on something "new" in a video she posted on TikTok.
The eight-second video followed Sel as she fixed her bangs while wearing headphones, and posed in front of a studio microphone. The clip later cut into Selena rocking headphones and serving face. She captioned the video "new" and chose to share the video without audio, crushing her fan's dreams of a snippet into Sel's latest sound.
Selena first confirmed new music while chatting with Deadline's Crew Call podcast. "I just finished Season 4 of my cooking show [Selena + Chef], and I am in LA working on my album now," she said. Sel didn't confirm exactly when fans should expect new music, but she did hint at hitting the road for a tour. "I am open to a tour, 1,000 percent," she said. "But I obviously have obligations and things that I want to do, so, when the time's right. It's not at the top of my priority list."
Selena's forthcoming project marks her return to music after her debut Spanish-language EP Revelación dropped in 2021, which earned Sel a Grammy nod for Best Latin Pop Album.
Before that seven-track project, Selena went number one with her hit single "Lose You to Love Me," lifted off of 2020's Rare album.
