Selena Gomez and Cardi B Join DJ Snake at Coachella 2019

Selena Gomez can officially add “Coachella performer” to her ever-growing resume.

The singer-songwriter joined forces with Cardi B in a surprise appearance during DJ Snake’s set on Friday, April 12. Along with Ozuna, the group of musicians performed their extremely catchy song “Taki Taki,” much to the entire crowd’s delight. While Selena has been spotted hanging out at Coachella in the past, this marked the first time she took the stage at the festival; Cardi B performed at last year’s event.

With a performance that included cannons of glitter (seriously), it’s no wonder that fans were ecstatic by Selena and Cardi’s surprise appearances. “Selena Gomez came to #Coachella to be the happiest version of herself!!!” one person wrote on Twitter. This fan described Selena and Cardi’s performance as “magical,” while others decided that Sel basically “invented” Coachella.

Oh, and can we talk about their outfits for a second? Selena dazzled in an all-white suit with frilly lace sleeves, keeping her hair long and loose, save for the pretty braid on the side of her head. Always one to make a fashion statement, Cardi opted for a coordinating floral vest and powder-blue bodysuit, wearing her blonde hair straight and sleek. Iconic? You bet.

Of course, the festival has only just begun, and it’s already off to an impressive start. The upcoming performances certainly have big shoes to fill, but with a schedule that includes Ariana Grande’s headlining act, we have a feeling that festival-goers have plenty more excitement in store for them.
